Meet Dr Ileana Matiu
Having graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Universities of Constanta in Romania and Toronto, Dr Matiu gained valuable experience in the field of general dentistry while working in Bucharest for five years, before joining Bloor West Village dental practice in 2008. A member of both the Canadian and Ontario Dental Associations, she is committed to her own continuing education and professional development and has completed courses on endodontics, as well as on cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
Although Dr Matiu is renowned for the thoroughness and perfectionism that she puts into all aspects of her treatment, she is also recognized for her warmth, friendliness and approachability and her desire to ensure that her patients have a positive experience while in her care and are delighted with their results. While Dr Matiu’s professional life focuses on general, preventive and cosmetic dentistry, in her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends and is a great fan of music and dance.
Meet Dr. John Birgiolas
Born and raised in Toronto, Canada Dr. Birgiolas graduated from The University of Toronto and The University of Western Ontario Faculty of Dentistry. He created this practice in 1985 on the philosophy of sound and efficacious dental care, and has been practicing general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry in the Bloor West Village area for over 25 years.
While dedicating his time and energy toward running a successful dental practice, Dr. Birgiolas has also been an Associate in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Toronto for the last eighteen years.
Dr. Birgiolas also completed a mini-residence course in implant dentistry and regularly attends lectures and dental conferences to keep current his knowledge of the expanding field of dentistry.
In his spare time, Dr, Birgiolas enjoys spending time at his cottage with his family, and piloting his very own floatplane.
