General & Restorative Dentistry

Root Canal Treatment (Endodontics)

When the nerves of a tooth die, often due to severe trauma or decay, they become infected and cause extreme pain and swelling. Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is the process of preserving the affected tooth by cleaning out the infected or dead nerves from the canal and then filling the canal to prevent further such infections.

Dental Implants

Are you missing one or more teeth?

Dental implants are an effective way to replace missing teeth and restore the fullness of your smile.

A dental implant is an artificial root that is carefully inserted into the jawbone to replace the root of the missing natural tooth. This first step requires a healing period of about three to six months. Then, an artificial replacement tooth is attached to the implant.

After this procedure, you will be left with a strong tooth that is so natural-looking, it is virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth - thus, dramatically improving the overall appearance of your smile.

Dental implants will also strengthen your bite and prevent tooth movement that naturally occurs when there are gaps in between natural teeth.

To learn more about how dental implants can restore the health and beauty of your smile, please contact our office located in Bloor West Village, in Toronto.

Dentures

Do you have significant tooth loss?

Custom-fitted dentures allow patients who have lost all or most of their teeth due to accidents, disease or age to enjoy the benefits of a beautifully restored smile and ease discomforts caused by missing teeth.

At Bloor West Village Dental, we offer two types of dentures; partial and complete. Partial dentures are made up of one or more artificial teeth held in place by clasps that fit onto nearby teeth. These can be taken out for cleaning and while you sleep.

Complete dentures ('false teeth') are used when all of your natural teeth are missing.

Sedation Dentistry

Do you have a fear of the dentist?

At Bloor West Village Dental, we pride ourselves with promoting a comfortable environment for all our patients – and we mean it!

If you have a phobia of the dentist or feel uncomfortable and anxious during your dental visit, our dentists can provide you with nitrous oxide (also known as “laughing gas”) which is a gentle form of sedation - to help you relax during your treatment.
